Where Do I Start? Over the years I've
been asked a lot of questions regarding sustainable
living. But the #1 question is "Where do I start on
the path to a greener lifestyle?" My answer?
Anywhere you want. Lots of experts will tell you to
throw out everything in your cleaning closet that
isn't natural, clean your refrigerator of non-organic
items and get rid of every piece of plastic you own.
Some will even do their darndest to shame you for
not being green. Well, I say shame on them. Until
they walk in your shoes, no one knows what goes on
in your life and the challenges you face.

It would begin with a trip to a National Discount
Store or the local grocery store. I would look at the
vast array of choices, and become overwhelmed.
After countless years of trying different items, I
knew which shampoo I didn't want, but not which
one to try next. I had tried the one my sister
recommended, but her hair is colored, thin and fine.
My hair, on the other hand, is thick and hasn't been
treated in years. She also spends a lot more on her
hair than I do.
I Wanted What They Had I looked
around again and knew in my heart that I wanted to
be like those women on the commercials with the
long-flowing perfect, strong hair, but didn't really
know which bottle was going to give me those
results.

Here are a few simple recipes that we use regularly.
We hope you'll enjoy them as much as we do.
Simple Honey Cleanser
Here's a recipe for a simple, yet effective daily face
cleanser using honey. For normal skin choose Clover
honey, for combination/oily choose Orange Blossom.
Simply wet face with warm water. Take a face cloth,
wet and apply approximately 1 teaspoon of honey.
Apply to skin working gently in circular motions. Rinse
with tepid to warm water. That's it! Honey is
naturally anti-bacterial and is a natural humectant. If
you eat a little along the way, that's ok too!
