greenfeet.com welcomes AskDon

As a help to our customers, greenfeet.com is pleased
to announce we will be partnering with "AskDon" to help
answer your questions about natural cleaning. Don will
be contributing articles about the dangers many
commercial cleaning products pose, natural cleaning
recipes, and reviews of the natural cleaners we carry
at greenfeet.com. We also want you to "AskDon" any
questions you might have about our cleaners.
Don is a bit of a perfectionist and a "neat freak". We
think that might have to do with spending 20 years in
the Air Force where everything had to be done a
certain way. Since his retirement, he channels that
need to clean into his new job of being a stay at home
dad.

| Getting to Know your Drain! | | | It is highly unlikely that you have formally introduced
yourself to your drains, and while we're not asking you
to go that far, we hope you will take this opportunity
to learn a little bit more about where your drain leads
and where the things you send down it may end up.
Everything we put down the drain can have an effect
on our personal environment - including cleaning
products. It can affect the water we drink, and enjoy
for recreation. Household chemicals, if improperly used
or discarded can leach into the soil or filter into
neighboring waters.Read on...
| Easy Recipes for Healthy Home Care | | | Natural Carpet Deodorizer
Mix one small box of baking soda with ˝ teaspoon
(about 40 drops) of pure essential oil. We recommend
Lavender for a clean, refreshing fragrance. Simply
sprinkle on carpets. Let sit about 10-20 minutes and
vacuum thoroughly. Do note that commercial grade
carpet fresheners are a bit more granular therefore this
natural remedy requires a good vacuuming! Floor Oil
Ok, it doesn't get any easier than this. To keep your
beautiful hardwood floors looking beautiful, simply rub
pure, unrefined jojoba oil into the floorboards and wipe
with a clean, soft cloth. For a less oily variation, add a
few teaspoons of jojoba oil to 1 cup of organic apple
cider vinegar. Use to shine, clean and lubricate your
wood floors. More Recipes

| Using Natural Cleaning Products - by AskDon | | | I've been cleaning house since I was 18 years old and
on my own. I spent all of my twenties as a bachelor,
and kept a nice house so I wouldn't scare off my
guests. All those years I bought household cleaners
from the supermarket; the regular commercial stuff like
ammonia-based window cleaner, drain cleaner, aerosol
polish, detergents-you name it. It all worked pretty
well. Then I got married, had kids, and started moving
around the country. During our last move, I gathered all
our household cleaners together; we had over twenty
containers of chemical substances. That's when the
thought occurred to me that we had amassed a small
hazardous material stockpile in our own home! And
where did most of it all go when I used it? You guessed
it; down the drain. More
