Are You A Fuel Hog?

Between October 2001 and January 2002, oil prices have increased as much as 20% in some cities, and things aren't looking like they'll improve anytime soon. Regardless of current world affairs, our dependency on oil is frightening -- it is the primary means by which we heat our homes and fuel our cars. To get a sense of how much you spend on fuel for your car, check out this handy calculator. Plug in a few pieces of info, and you'll see just how many gallons you've consumed and what you spent in 2002 on gas. The numbers may surprise you!

We'd like you to take this challenge: determine how many gallons of fuel you consumed in 2002, and find ways to use less by year-end 2003. Email us your plan of attack and we'll check in with you periodically to see how things are going. Are you going to take public transportation more often? Will you carpool to work? We'll post on-going achievements and frustrations in future newsletters, and give you the final results in our February 2004 newsletter. C'mon -- take the Greenfeet Fuel Challenge!
